The Situation: A front over the north island
should
move away to the east this afternoon followed by
a
weak ridge of high pressure.
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND,
COROMANDEL PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO,
TAUMARANUI,
TARANAKI, TAUPO, WANGANUI, MANAWATU and TAIHAPE:
A mix
of showers and fine periods. Showers becoming isolated
to the west coast this afternoon with long fine periods
developing elsewhere. Southwesterly breezes.
BAY OF
PLENTY and ROTORUA: A few morning showers clearing
and
becoming mostly fine this afternoon. Southwesterly
breezes developing.
GISBORNE and HAWKES BAY: Cloudy
with showers and colder
southerly winds developing this
morning.
WAIRARAPA: A mix of showers and fine periods with
southerly
breezes. Showers clearing this evening with
the weather
becoming fine.
WELLINGTON: Morning showers
clearing and becoming mostly fine
from this afternoon.
Brisk southerly winds easing.
NELSON: Becoming fine this
morning with southwesterly
breezes.
MARLBOROUGH and
CANTERBURY: Morning showers clearing and
becoming fine
with southwesterly breezes.
BULLER, WESTLAND and
FIORDLAND: Fine weather but becoming
cloudy south of the
Glaciers this afternoon with some rain
spreading into
Fiordland tonight. Southwesterly breezes
tending
westerly.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Becoming fine and frosty
inland this
morning but remaining cloudy about the coast
and Stewart
Island with a few showers. Southwesterly
breezes tending
westerly.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Mostly
cloudy skies with a few showers.
Southwesterly breezes
dying out this morning.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Mostly
fine over the North
Island but the odd shower possible
in the west. Rain about
the west of the South Island
with a few showers spreading
elsewhere for a time. At
the Chatham Islands, showers and
brisk westerly
winds.
