For Northland: Mainly fine apart from a few showers in the west today.

In the west from Auckland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Brief showers spreading north today then clearing from the south. Tomorrow mostly fine.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Brief showers working north today otherwise fine.

Kapiti Coast and Wellington: Skies clearing today. Fine and frosty tomorrow.

Nelson and the South Island west coast: Fine and frosty apart from showers to the southern fiords.

From Marlborough to Otago, also for Southland: Cloud and showers persisting about the south coast. Fine and frosty elsewhere.

Chatham Islands: Showery.
