Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:

From Waitomo to Taupo and Bay of Plenty northwards: Showers widespread later today and at first tomorrow then becoming fine.

Taranaki to Wellington, also for the central plateau: Rain or showers today. Snow to the central mountains and main ranges overnight then gradually clearing tomorrow.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain easing to showers from the south overnight then slowly becoming fine.

Nelson: Becoming fine and frosty from tonight.

The South Island west coast: Remaining showers clearing from Buller this evening otherwise fine.

Marlborough and Canterbury: Rain or showers slowly clearing from the south. Becoming frosty inland overnight. Tomorrow fine.

Otago and Southland: Clearing weather inland today with remaining showers retreating to the south coast. Tomorrow showers persisting about Foveaux Strait otherwise fine and frosty.

Chatham Island: Cold showery southwesterlies.
