Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:

In the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also the central high country: Showers at times. Snow lowering to 900 metres about the central plateau which includes the Desert Road. Showers becoming confined to the central plateau this evening with only the odd shower persisting elsewhere. Becoming fine and frosty everywhere tomorrow.

For Bay of Plenty: Fine frosty weather.

For Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Cold and showery with further snow about the ranges. Showers slowly clearing tomorrow.

In Wellington and Wairarapa: Showers becoming widespread this evening with some hail and snow likely to 500 metres. That includes the Rimutaka Hill Road. Tomorrow, showers slowly clearing.

For Nelson and the South Island west coast: Fine and frosty weather.

For Marlborough and Canterbury: Showers with some sleet and snow to 400 metres in the east. Becoming fine and frosty tomorrow.

In Otago and Southland: Becoming fine inland today. About the coast, showers slowly clearing and very frosty tonight. Tomorrow, fine and frosty in all areas.

Chatham Islands: Showery and cold.
