Weather Workshop: All Districts forecast for NZ

Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:

The Situation: A front has cleared the country this morning and is followed by a west to southwest airstream. A much colder southerly change should spread up the South Island this afternoon and reach the North Island after dark.

And now the forecast to midnight tonight:

NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND and COROMANDEL PENINSULA: Mostly cloudy with showers, some heavy this morning but fine breaks increasing during the afternoon. Gusty northerlies turning northwesterly this afternoon then southwest tonight.

BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA: Outbreaks of rain becoming confined to the eastern ranges with heavy falls likely there. Fine breaks increasing in western Bay of Plenty from afternoon. Gusty northerlies turning northwest.

WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TAIHAPE, TAUPO, TARANAKI, WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Mostly cloudy with showers, some heavy this morning. Northwest winds turning southwest later.

WELLINGTON: Cloudy at first with a few showers and gusty northerlies. Fine breaks increasing during the day with winds easing. From evening, showers and cold southerlies developing.

GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Patchy rain clearing this afternoon and becoming mainly fine with gusty westerlies. From evening, showers and cold southerlies developing in Wairarapa.

NELSON: Remaining showers clearing this morning and becoming mainly fine with southwest winds.

MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY: Becoming mainly fine this morning with northwest winds. Showers and cold southerlies spread north during the afternoon with snow to the ranges after dark.

BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: A mix of cloud and fine breaks apart from showers about the southern fiords. Southwest winds.

OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Showers and southerlies work northwards this morning then becoming much colder from afternoon with snow to low levels and sleet and hail about the coast.

CHATHAM ISLANDS: Rain developing this morning with northerlies rising to gale force then tending southwest later.

THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Rain or showers to the North Island with winds tending southeast. Becoming fine over the South Island as a ridge moves in from the Tasman Sea. At the Chatham Islands, showery and cold with southerlies.
