All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The
Situation: An anticyclone over the eastern Tasman Sea
affects
much of the country with a west to southwest flow
covering the far
south.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL
PENINSULA, BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA,
TAUPO, WAIKATO,
WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, TAIHAPE, WANGANUI
and
MANAWATU: Fine apart from a few cloudy areas to western
districts.
Foggy in many sheltered places at first this
morning. Light breezes,
mainly southerly.
GISBORNE,
HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Cloud with a few drizzly showers
possible this morning about Wairarapa otherwise a mostly
fine day
ahead. Light breezes.
WELLINGTON: Cloudy
periods this morning with the odd light shower in
the
south. Becoming fine this afternoon with northerlies
developing.
NELSON: Fine with light winds.
BULLER,
WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Cloudy periods. Drizzly rain
becoming
persistent in Fiordland this morning with a few
falls spreading as
far north as the glaciers
tonight.
MARLBOROUGH: Mainly fine inland. Cloudy about the
coast with a few
drizzle patches likely for a time. Not
much wind.
CANTERBURY: Cloudy for much of the day with
coastal drizzle morning
and night.
Fine breaks
expected inland this afternoon. Northeast winds in
coastal places, elsewhere winds mostly light.
OTAGO
and SOUTHLAND: Often cloudy. A few drizzle areas this
morning,
Chiefly about the coast. More persistent light
rain spreading to
Southland and Stewart Island from the
west this evening. West to
northwest winds.
CHATHAM
ISLANDS: A showery day with winds from the south or
southwest. Not many fine breaks.
THE OUTLOOK FOR
TOMORROW: For the North Island a mix of cloudy and
fine
periods. A few light showers north of Auckland. Over the
South
Island rain in many west coast places and about
Southland and Stewart
Island. Elsewhere cloudy with
drizzle patches about the coast. At the
Chatham's,
Showery southwesterlies.
