Weather Workshop: All Districts forecast for NZ
All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The
Situation: A low near the Chatham Is. is moving slowly
southeast
as a ridge of high pressure spreads onto
mainland New Zealand from
the Tasman Sea.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:

COROMANDEL PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO,
TAUMARANUI and
TARANAKI: A mix of cloudy and fine periods with a few
showers at times. South to southwest winds.
BAY of
PLENTY/ROTORUA and TAUPO: Cloudy at first with the odd light
shower but during the day long fine spells developing.
Southerly
breezes.
TAIHAPE, WANGANUI and MANAWATU:
Light showers continuing about the
eastern ranges,
elsewhere long sunny periods. Southeast winds.
GISBORNE,
HAWKES BAY, WAIRARAPA: Showers becoming less frequent north
of Mahia as the day goes on and a few drizzly showers at
times
further south. Southerlies, strong and gusty in
exposed coastal
areas, otherwise breezy.
WELLINGTON: A
mostly cloudy day with a few light showers at times in
the east. Breezy cool southerlies again.
NELSON,
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Mostly fine conditions ahead
but at first this morning cloudy periods about Nelson
and Buller.
Light winds.
MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY:
Long fine spells inland but in coastal
areas a good deal
of cloudiness with brief showers at times.
Southwest
winds.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Clearing in most places but
about the south coast and Stewart Is. skies remaining
fairly
cloudy. Westerlies strengthening about Foveaux
Strait, elsewhere
winds mostly light.
CHATHAM ISLANDS:
A cold showery day from the south. Winds becoming
strong
this morning.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Fine over much of
the North Island,

persisting. The South Island sees mainly fine
weather
but as the day progresses rain is likely to work up the
west coast and later spread into parts of Southland and
Otago.
